A great authentic culinary and cultural experience of French cooking with Sibylle. She’s good at making cooking feel simple, and brings a very friendly and smooth vibe. Our cooking class with Sibylle was one of my favorite activities when visiting France this past fall. I love traveling and meeting new people, but especially locals. It was wonderful to be able to experience the market with her, learn some new French cooking skills (absolutely hands on) and partake of the delicious recipes we prepared. We enjoyed great conversation with her (and her husband) and learned much about French culture. Don’t miss this fabulous experience in Annecy!

Mon partenaire, mes 4 filles et moi avons adoré notre journée de shopping et de cuisine avec Sibylle. La visite au marché était tout simplement géniale, car c'était l'un des meilleurs marchés que je connaisse et Sibylle a fait un excellent travail en nous expliquant les choses, en nous offrant beaucoup de goûts gratuits, etc. Mes enfants adoraient tout et c'était comme gardait des chats pour Sibylle, mais elle s'est bien occupée de nous sans aucune plainte et a clairement tout ciblé sur nos intérêts spécifiques, y compris l'achat de délicieux fromages que nous aimions tous. Le cours de cuisine était amusant, instructif et savoureux. Nous avons tous adoré et avons hâte de reproduire les recettes. C'était aussi amusant de parler de la France avec Sibylle. Je recommande vivement son cours de cuisine à tous.

What a great day we had with Sibylle! She was amazing and the experience truly exceeded every expectation. It could not have been better. We had a blast getting a local's view of the market, learning new recipes and techniques, eating delicious food, chatting and swapping stories, and making new friends. I cannot recommend this experience enough. It's a must-do when in Annecy!

I spent a wonderful day with Sibylle that started out at the market in Annecy's old town, where we visited numerous vendors to pick out our ingredients. This was the perfect setting for Sibylle to explain the characteristics of everything from the local cheese to charcuterie, with so many versions of each product right in front of us at each stall. We prepared our three-course meal in Sibylle's spacious kitchen, each with our own chopping board, so you really did learn exactly how to make the dishes, with Sibylle giving lots of little cooking tips that make all the difference. We then sat down at the dining table and enjoyed the meal together. This is a very personal cooking experience in someone's home, with hands-on learning and lots of laughter and chat. I highly recommend it.

Fantastic experience and perfect day. Sibylle takes you first through the local market in Annecy to buy the ingredients and meet people, all very nice and easy-going. She then welcomes you in her home to start the real fun. Instructions are clear and the atmosphere is relaxed and relaxing. This experience gives also the chance to meet people from all over the world and therefore to travel by cooking!

Ma fille et moi étions en voyage en France avec quelques jours à Annecy. J'ai trouvé Once Upon a Pan et nous nous sommes inscrits. C'était vraiment une expérience merveilleuse. Nous avons rencontré Sibylle et sommes partis au marché des fermiers pour les ingrédients. Nous y avons beaucoup appris pour commencer. De retour chez elle, nous avons passé un agréable moment à préparer, bavarder, savourer le thé pendant que nous préparions le repas en apprenant de nouvelles techniques de cuisine. Sibylle était informative, amicale et nous a guidés à travers tout avec une main douce. Quand ce fut prêt, nous nous sommes assis à une table magnifiquement dressée et avons apprécié le repas et une bonne conversation. C'était vraiment une super journée et je le recommande vivement. Nous avons adoré découvrir la cuisine, la préparation et la vie à Annecy. Ma fille et moi gardons un excellent souvenir de cette journée !

We had such a wonderful time with Sibylle today. I had never done a cooking experience before so I was a little nervous, but it was such a fun time! The Annecy market was lovely and she showed us around and gave us tips on what the local eat and certain foods to try while here. Her home was clean and lovely and there was much care and time put into the meal. No previous cooking experience is required, and the food turned out delicious! Very fun way to get to know the city and culture. Highly recommend.

What a perfect way to spend half a day in Annecy! Don’t miss this experience. The trip through the market, with the vibrant colors and Sibylle’s explanations of the local vendors and local produce was valuable.
The cooking was fun and simple in her kitchen… everything we needed and perfect explanations. And, now we know how to measure by weight rather than volume!
And the meal… delicious from tasting cheeses to dessert …was the best we have eaten on this trip!

Débarqués à Annecy en janvier 2022, nous voilà découvrant Sybille à l'entrée du marché. Elle nous emmène d'échoppe en échoppe, au gré des discussions avec les maraîchers, pour nous procurer l'ensemble des ingrédients indispensables à la recette prévue. A quelques kilomètres du centre historique, à quatre, sous la supervision éclairée de Sybille, , nous commençons à préparer le repas. Qui pour peler les oignons, qui pour détailler les légumes, qui pour mélanger la pâte, qui pour porter la touche finale à l'excellent menu proposé et planifié par Sybille. En bout de course, excellent repas. Pour ne rien gâcher, un petit verre de vin vient agrémenter la conversation amène avec notre hôtesse du jour, érudite et intéressante. Puis, à quelques encablures à pied, nous rejoignons le lac, sans Sybille cette fois, pour rentrer vers Annecy. La balade ensoleillée pour succéder au festin. Très bon moment familial. Je recommande sans modération.

I would 100 % recommend doing Sibylle’s cooking experience. I enjoyed meeting Sibylle. I loved every bit of this experience from visiting fresh market to cooking at Sybill’s kitchen, to eating a delicious meal. What can I say you cannot visit Annecy and not do this experience.

We were able to have a cooking class with Sybille a week ago. She picked us up from Old Town and provided a great experience for me and my fiancé. It was a wonderful cooking experience and we also enjoyed getting to hear about Annecy from a local. It was also wonderful to have an event like this where the host spoke English. Утром мы встретились и пошли на живописный рынок для покупки продуктов, Сибилль рассказала как правильно выбирать фермерские продукты, мы продегустировали различные джемы и позже отправились готовить блюда, из всех тех продуктов, что приобрели на рынке. Sibylle was very friendly and very knowledgable with Annecy. She was very thoughtful and even helped us to book a dinner reservation and also some other recommendation for us to travel to around Annecy. The dishes was very interesting to us and we had a lot of fun making the traditional French dishes and her cat was very cute. She also was very engaging with us, asking about Malaysia and our university studies and everything.

Silbylle’s cooking class was extraordinary and absolutely amazing!!! The market at this ancient city was beautiful and lively, and not something you can easily experience these days. Silbylle’s house was beautifully decorated, and the cooking class was so much fun!! She is very passionate and knowledgeable, and loves what she is doing. We spent about 10 days and went several restaurants in France, but her meal was the BEST we had in our trip!! I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone who visits Annecy.

Sibylle’s cooking program was absolutely amazing! Our Annecy market experience in the old town was delightful. Sampling of foods and learning about customs was incredibly informative and interesting to learn. The cooking class was great fun, and the entire group, who did not know one another to begin with, left as friends. I would do this again with different recipes!

Today with Sibylle was wonderful. We were a group of 5 and she made us feel so welcome. The market visit was very interesting. Sibylle explained everything and showed us many local foods. She obviously knows the best stall holders and they respect her. Then, the cooking experience in her beautiful home was so much fun. We prepared and cooked traditional dishes which were absolutely delicious. She made sure we all participated and felt special. Over dinner at her beautifully-set table, we chatted and shared life experiences and stories. Altogether, a very special day.

Sibylle's experience was the best thing my daughter and I did on our trip to France/Switzerland! She met the 5 of us (from US, Australia, England) in our group at City Hall, then took us on an amazing walk through Annecy to Tuesday market, where she knew merchants and introduced us to new local foods, then drove us all to her home for afternoon of cooking a gourmet meal together--- lots of fun, conversation, learning. Then fabulous lunch, wine, talk, new friends, and finally piling in her car for a ride back to downtown Annecy. It was delicious in every way, and so enjoyable! We'll definitely come again if we're back in beautiful Annecy. Thank you Sibylle!

Sibylle took us to the market and explained to us what she was looking for when she chose particular produce for our meal. We were encouraged to participate in the preparation of the food. Sybille provided an inclusive atmoshere where we all felt relaxed and were able to learn about each other's cultures. Our meal was delicious, using recipes I will try again at home. In doing so, it will remind me of this very special experience in Sybille's lovely home.

This was a wonderful experience in Annecy! We really enjoyed the walk through the farmer’s market and talking with the local vendors with all of their fresh produce, meats, and cheeses. The cooking portion was very enjoyable - we got to learn about how to prepare some dishes and have a lovely meal and conversation with the host and our fellow tourists. The recipes are definitely something we will try again in our own kitchen at home. Sibylle was so kind and informative. Highly recommend this experience!

My husband, my mother, and I all had a wonderful experience in Sibylle's cooking class. She is a warm, smart, interesting person with incredible expertise that she shares with grace, humor, and insight. The Annecy market is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen, and it was fun to shop with someone who knows so much about the products and providers. Her home is lovely, and it truly felt like cooking together in a friend's home. Sibylle was kind enough to accommodate our dietary needs, and every dish we learned to make was delicious! Every time I make them at home, I will have happy memories of that enjoyable day. If there is space available, go for it! You will be glad you did!

Sybille is a natural hostess, and we found we could relax and enjoy an authentic French culinary exerience - choosing local cheese and meats in the beautiful market, and preparing the meal together with Sybille at home. So pleased we got to have this experience with Sibylle. She was a fantastic host. Her knowledge of the local products at the markets was brilliant and there was plenty of time allowed to ask questions and sample various foods. The cooking class was held at her home and meeting her family made it extra special. We were all able to participate in the preparation and of course the end result was a fantastic three course French meal using fresh seasonal produce. The experience is much more than we hoped for. Sibylle took us shopping in the market and pointed out the local produce. She then took us to her lovely cozy home where we spent 2-3 hours learning to cook a 3 courses meal. We mingled with guests from Australia and shared each other’s traveling adventures. This is the only one experience that we could get in Annecy and turned out to be amazing and highlight during our stay in annecy. Althought it was a rainy day, we got fun and enjoyed ourself a lot. That was because of Sibylle. She is thoughtful, understanding and friendly. We thought that she has a magic to have people relaxed and be themselves. The tour started.from her warm greetings at the meeting point. She took us to a local market to but fresh ingredients for meal. During that time, she also introduced some culture of Annecy. Then we got to her beautiful and clean house, had some coffee. After we had a chit chat, then we start. Sibylle is very good host and teacher. We are not very good at cooking, but we still made tasty starter, meal and dessert under her guidance. During our luch time, we have a pleasant and wonderful talk with Sibylle and her husband. If you come to Annecy and you look for different tour from just sightseeing, you must join Sibylle's cooking tour.

It was a wonderful cuisine journey at Sibylle’s house. We visited the market in the morning and freely tasted the good jam, jambon, nougat and other fantastic options. When backed to Sibylle’s house, we started to prepare the dishes. I have to say the house is très magnifique with very fine decorations. There is a sculpture made by Sibylle herself which is impressive. The cuisine she shared with me was typical French. She was detailed to coach me step by step and printed out the menu for me to take back. She was very helpful to advise boat trip and book store for me as well. Many thanks, Sibylle. I will miss these happy hours with you.

"When we travel we always seek for local experiences with local people. For this reason Sibylle's offer looked perfect for us. And certenly we were right. First we walked through the wonderful market of Annecy, buying fresh products for lunch. Then we went to her lovely house to make the food and eat it. All of it was perfect and highly recommended. In addition to all of that and what we liked the most was the oppertunity to talk with Sybille about their day to day life. "Quality time cooking and sharing a meal and some genuine conversation about life, travel, and local life in Annecy and the history of Annecy. This experience was one of the highlights of my trip. Experiencing the market with a seasoned chef with a passion for finding the very best ingredients and a plan in mind was such a treat. Navigating the market and learning about its history as we selected the ingredients. Was really wonderful to have a local chef to ask the vendors all different questions and also one who knows the places to find the best ingredients for every dish. Even taking our coffee was just as the locals do! Was a fun transition from the market to Sibylle’s home to begin cooking. The best part of traveling is getting to share experiences with the local people and seeing life through their eyes and a real honor to be invited into such a warm and welcoming home. The kitchen was sublime and the cooking lesson lots of fun and many tips that I will remember as I attempt to recreate in my own home. No doubt I will return take another cooking class from Sibylle! I am not sure how long I will be able to wait to enjoy the experience again. The best lunch I had as we enjoyed the fruits of our labor and a wonderful wine and great conversation A very memorable time!"
